So last year I had quit smoking cigarettes. I lasted about 4 months, then landed in the hospital and was put on all sorts of pain meds, and faltered. So now I am trying to quit smoking again. My method: for 2 packs - I cut back to 5 cigarettes a day - 1/3 of a cigarette every hour. then 2 packs at 4 a day - 1/3 every 1.5 hours. then 2 packs at 3 a day - 1/3 every 2 hours. then 2 packs at 2 a day - 1/3 every 3 hours. then 2 packs at 1 day - 1/3 every 6 hours. 1 carton to quit. I am at the 3 a day mark, this is day 3. Hard as hell but each day my body gets a little more used to it. Usually by day 5 Its not a MASSIVE struggle. Yesterday was the worst. Today has been hard but not as bad as yesterday.
